I'm interested in lower pH. I know..I'm a hypocrite. but I just lost my last (of 22) shrimp from molting problems and I'm p/o'd. There's only one possibility I can imagine and it's my hard water.

Anyone use this stuff? How bad is the tanin leach?

Hi crepe. I've been using fluval peat for almost a month now in my 125g and I don't see any "browning" of the water. I already have driftwood though before I started using peat granules. It works. My pH went down to 6.6 from 7.4.. You will eventually have to replace it once your pH starts going back up. Good luck!
