I want a nice center piece show piece fish that won't hide ... a wrasse or something that can fit in my 40 gal ... I have no idea what would work

Personally I would give it a few weeks for everything to settle down before adding anything but maybe a 6 line when you get the new one

If you want a nice wrasse check out the flasher wrasses. Most can go in that size. Just watch out for that eel!

The eel is friendly feed him a lot too why should I be cautioned ?

As your snowflake gets bigger, he will eat all yr fish

If he's fed I don't see a problem. I had one for 3 years and never ate a fish.

Having all of these in a 40 gal reef is really a big challenge. I am following up on how this goes.

Snowflake eels aren't the biggest fish eaters (they can and might) but will demolish crustaceans. I'd love one but refuse to keep one until I get a special tank set up for just that reason.
