I'm looking to add some stuff to my tank to make it look better. I currently have a couple small stuff from the store but I would I to make something that goes higher in the tank. Anyone have any ideas of what I good do? I really don't want to spend alot of money to go buy the decorations so I would like to make something myself. I curerently have a 55 rectangle tank

Do you have a pic of your tank? What "stuff" are we talking about and what is it that your trying to achieve?

Ya ill post pics. But I would like to add something to my tank that my fish can use and so it doesn't look so bare

Here is a pic what I have now I would like to add some plants too and I'm think of changing the gravel to sand

I have tried rocks but I don't know how put them to make it look good and how to make it high enough with out it falling over or getting the right rock to put in the corner

Well.... You can add them in some way or other. Take some pics and we can help with advice and suggestions.

I prefer sand over gravel by far. Rocks and more rocks! They don't necessarily have to be built high. Just covering much I'd say 60-70% of the bottom and various heights. I've seen several tank pics here lately with driftwood and liked it so much I'm boiling some for this tank right now.

Also if your having trouble stacking rock and worrying about it falling over you can look into some aquarium safe glue/silicone to hold structures together. Maybe even pre-assemble then add them to the tank. I have cobble stone and I know it's scary when you hear it fall. Always hoping it doesn't go through the bottom or crush a fish!
