I started my second tank a few weeks ago (50g) and decided to try out the Colony product.
I set up the tank, added 70% of the 100g bottle, proceeded to add some ammonia and the results were astounding.
Ammonia was sky high to start with, next day, 0. Low nitrates, no nitrites. Tried it again, small nitrite spike that evening, next morning no nitrite and all nitrate.
I have added approx 20 fish (following Colony's instructions via phone).. Tetras, mollies, suckers, silver dollars, and low and behold.. No nitrite spike.
Added another bio support and the tank has been great ever since.
Tank has handled the bio load perfectly.. Essentially a two day cycle and my fish are perfectly happy.
I just thought id share as there wasn't much cut and dry experience with this product. I will never do another tank again without it!
