I'm new here, hi! I have a yellow tang that ive had for about 1-2 months now. Its about 4 inches long. Its been doing just fine until the past two days. It doesnt seem to be as interested in food ( it nibbled at the green seaweed yesterday, and didnt touch it today) I also noticed a small little red spot near the base of his top fin, near the tail. The only thing Ican think of is that I did some major tank cleaning and had my hand it there for a while. I think they may have stressed him. it was eating fine before the 'big tank clean'. I havent added any other fish since him) Is this something I need to take him out of the tank for and treat? Or should I reduce stress and maybe do a water change and see how it goes? btw my tank is a 55 gallon.

A PWC will never hurt. I always like to suggest anytime there is a problem that PWC`s should be the first order of buisness. Then try to move from there.

I did a water change and the tang is looking worse.. he has more red blotches/streaks. I treated the main tank with 3 cap fulls of maracyn plus. I just read that may have not been a good idea! I didnt have a quarantine tank. Are the other fish going to be ok? I didnt want to stress the tang out since I think stress caused the bacterial infection in the first place
