I had any idea. I am moving at the end of the month. I was going to tank the poly full out of my filter and put it in a stocking, then pale it in my tank. Will the BB live in the sticking under the water in the back corner of my tank? I will be going from a 55 to 100 gallon. Thought the stocking would help a mini cycle.

Also I will be putting more (new) poly fill back in the media trays to start more BB collecting.

So today I took the dirty poly fill out pod the media baskets in my 405 and put it in a stocking. I'm going to leave I in my tank until I move. I will be using it to help my cycle in a bigger tank. New poly full is in the filter baskets as well.

I thought it would be a good way to "harvest" beneficial bacteria.

As long as it stays wet it should stay alive

That's what I figured. Then when I transport the fish ill throw it in with them. Then set up the big tank, let it cycle with my dirty filter and the sticking..

Got the idea when some said the helped their tank cycle buy using old filter pads from a HOB
