Betta Splendens vs. Imbellis

Are betta imbellis as social with their owners as betta splendens? Will they recognize their owners and come up to the glass like the splendens? And are they as active and fun to watch? Thanks!

No personal experience here. But I would think that since they are such similar fish, they would. IME, all the anabatoids seem personable.
