Hi! I was wondering about the ideal tank depth for a betta. I know that they don't like tall aquariums, but is there a recommended minimum below which the tank is considered too shallow? And I mean a year-round, life-long setup, not a breeding/growout/temporary tank. I'm asking partly out of curiosity, and partly because I'm looking towards setting up a betta aquarium (just the one male, no tankmates, unless maybe some snails). I would like the betta to be able to swim comfortably up and down as well as from side to side, without feeling confined or cramped. I've browsed all kinds of different sites, but all I could find was information on breeding tanks (not year-round setups), or no information at all.
Thanks
