black fin blue gourami

my gourami has started getting black on it's fin and just kinda floats on the top. my water parameters are good except I have a high ph and high alkalinity. any one know whats going on here and how to fiv it?

Black fins usually mean stress but don't know whit it's floating?

A honey gourami I got about 2 weeks ago developed black fins too...I'm starting to think its fin rot but I don't know

What test are you using?
What are your exact parameters?
How long has the tank been set up and is it cycled?
What is your maintenance schedule?

I have just been using the test strips so I don't know my exact parameters. I do weekly water changes of about 35% and my tank has been set up for about 6 months now. I think it's fin rot but i'm not sure. i tried a salt bath. helped a little.

as far as the honey gourami i have 2 of them. their fins started to turn gray/black about 1 year ago. they are perfectly healthy. not stressed. i think it might br more common than people think. anyway in my experience it hasn't meant a thing and i never treated them with anything. they're still going strong, very healthy.
