Ive owned this cute bolivian ram for a month or so, and he wasnt doing so well last night. Over the weeks, Ive noticed he would not eat food I put in the tank (bloodworms). I added a male blue ram a few weeks ago and they've have their fights but not extreme and sometimes playful. Now my bolivian ram swims weak, breathes hard, and lays on surfaces (wood, plant leaves). He looks abit skinny but Im wondering what could be the real issue? Is it because he doesn't have a female tank mate? or the addition of the blue ram?
Tank parameters:
Ammonia: around 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: 5-20ppm
pH: 74-78. Keep in mind I purchased him where he was bred in pH ranging 6.8-7.0.
Any ideas?? He's survived the night but I dont think he has much left. Other fish/shrimp are well.
