Hey guys,

Just getting back into the hobby after a long layoff. Have kept Angels and Discus together before and would like to again.

Can anyone provide me some names of reliable / reputable online dealers / breeders ? The whole buying live fish on line thing is new to me. Only 1 LFS near me and they specialize in salt and their freshwater selection is realy limited !!

There are some regular sellers on aquabid.com which you can check out. Joe Gargas seems especially busy selling discus.

I've had good luck ordering fish from aquabid. Some of the sellers are Florida fish farms, the source of many pet shop fish.

Regarding discus and angelfish, you get better fish buying directly from breeders. I find that most of my angelfish, which were purchased from Petco or another chain, have crooked fins when they mature. I'm thinking that the chains wind up with a lot of breeder culls.

Yea, I realy want to stay away from the chain stores !!

Oddly enough... Craigslist can be helpful in this. Lots of home breeders there.
