This project has gotten to be a bit more than I thought. Stand is all built and man it was tough getting it in this tight space by myself. The wife REFUSED to help. Tanks are being cleaned as we speak. Picked up something I absolutely could not pass up. That surprise is for later.

Awesome man. Good luck with the breeding! My wife never helps me with my fish stuff either.

Thanks.

It's a tight fit but it definitely works. Only set up one tonight since I needed to get the new guys into a home. I usually don't put fish in a new tank this soon but lets chalk that up to an impulse buy.

Soooo, the new pair are salvini.

Man that is one tight looking squeeze, but you don't it so congrats. Your only problem as far as I can see is sooner or later you will be wanting to build bigger, with more and more tanks. Lol .

I too am breeding cichlids. So far in my dinning room I have two massive stands that house 2 4ftx2ftx2ft in the middle. 2 4ftx2ftx16 inches on top. And 8 2ft x1ftx1ft holding tanks on the bottom . As well as a 6ft frontosa tank and a goldfish tank.
In my living room I have a massive corner tank and a 2.5ft tank with nicuagua baby's in and in my spare room I have a 3ft tank growing on tank. Lol
Will take pics of the tanks later here's a pic of one stand when I first put it in.

Lol. I hope I don't want more tanks but I can see it happening. The most I see adding is larger grow out tanks. I also don't know if I can fit in the time to maintain any more than this.

Watch this space!!! Bet you get more, lol as for maintainace, just me you find time . I do 10% weekly on my tanks something in the region of 300 litres. All with a siphon and buckets. I'm not keen on sumps, altho I do like there efficient and easy to maintain. You get one I'll fish and you get all I'll fish. Anyway off point.

I like what you have done. Look forward to more updates and pics.

Thanks. I'll be keeping this thread updated with progress and also some tips and issues I may come across with the specific breeds.

Quick update. Been testing some methods the last couple days and suuuuuurrrrrprrrriseeee. Female saulosi is holding. Woohoo. Just in time too since I just finished making some more filters for the 10g fry tank and 45 long grow out tank (cycling).

However. In these change of methods I think I may have more males than I thought. A little upset since it was supposed to be 2 males and 6 females and I think it was actually 5/3.

Chailosi are in and growing. Hopefully in the next few weeks I will be able to start picking out males from the 17 I bought. My goal is to have at least 8 females with only 2 makes.
