Brown algae

I am starting to get an increase in brown surface algie, should I be concerned? I don't have my lights on that much, only about six hours a day and only when we are home. Mostly on rockwork and some fake plants. Tank is three months young. Cheers!

Sounds like a diatom outbreak to me. They are very common in newly established tank. I would not get too concerned about it just yet. Just use a brush and clean them off the surfaces they are attaching to.
