Yes. I currently keep 2 bbg in a fw set up. Keep in mind that there are multiple species of bbg. Mine are Brachygobius xanthozona which are reported to be perfectly fine living fw lives. Brachygobius nunu, however, are said to not do well in fw set-ups and are more suited to bw.

Just added a couple to my fw tank 1 week ago and even though it hasn't been long they seem healthy and happy! They are the same species as mentioned above that do well in freshwater. Love these little guys!

If they have more solid lines and colors they are the freshwater species. I believe the brackish have more broken up colorations (more like spots almost)
