Cabbage Leather

I have a cabbage leather that is normally a pinkish color. I noticed that it started to get lighter in some areas like bleaching? Idk. But it seems to have regained is color but has these whispy spider web type things attached to it now. What does that sound like it could be?

It`s just sloughing. Mine does it every few weeks.

Cleaning it's exterior is the easy answer IMO.
