I need to do my 1st partial water change.Can I use my tap water?I have a water softener injector to make the water soft.

RODI should be used for all water in the marine tank from first filling, to evaporation top off to pwc's. If you don't have a RODI unt try to get some from a lfs, a local grocery, WalMart, etc.

+1 for Cmor's advice. If you don't have the cash for an RO/DI unit, go to your local Walmart and get some of the 5 gallon Culligan jugs and fill them up at the RO station they have there (Big blue thing).
