Can mbuna and aulonocara crossbreed?

I have two yellow mbuna in my big tank with peacock males and females (and other cichlids). I'm planning on rehousing all the aulonocara species in a male only tank and the females to small breeders. My question is until then I noticed the mbuna seem like they want to spawn. Will they try and mate with the aulonocara? I don't want this to happen!

It's possible
