My filter contains carbon in it and I was wondering if I was to add liquid ferts to the tank for my plants, will the carbon absorb the ferts?

how long would it take?

It depends on the kind of plants, how much lighting you have, whether you are using CO2, what kind of substrate you have, how long per day you are lighting the tank, etc.

Most people dosing a tank dose multiple times per week. If you are using the PPS PRO method, you dose daily. It just depends on how much you put in.

Yes, how long. Sorry ate a word there.

Thanks for the info fort. I am currently using gravel as substrate, 12 hours of (2x20w CF bulbs) light for 2 Amazon Swords, 3 Java Fern, and Java Moss with no CO2. Things are going well right now, but I hope liquid ferts help.
