I currently have a filter with a square pad the water runs thru. I have ordered a fluval c4 and want to switch over so I can just change the sponge part when it needs it and leave the rest alone. Any ideas on how to do this without crashing tank??:thanks:

Run both filters for a couple weeks or remove the media from old filter and install it in the new for a couple weeks.

I could take the filter pad and cut as much as i can away from the plastic frame and put that in one of the fluval compartments. maybe that would be enough to keep it from crashing
