Cloudy water

I'm new to tropical fish, having had a cold water set some years ago. Having read up on and talked to the people at the aquarium shop we introduced the fish to the tank. After 2 days the water has become cloudy and has remained so (5days so far) all thing being equal will it clear

Cloudy water is probably a bacterial bloom and is normal in a cycling tank until the nutrients start to balance out.

Cloudy like a white colour? Cloudy like green water? Cloudy like a weak tea brown colour? Cloudy like particles suspended in the water?
