Wow what an incredible fish I want one so bad! The cockatoo chiclid has amazing colors and even the females look good but right now my 60 gallon tank is finally set up and I have a 10 gallon with one platy and everything is smooth and running so I heard from a book I read that they reach 3.5 inches so a kinda small chiclid so since they stay relatively small can I put one in the 10 gallon It has rocks and plenty of hiding spots thanks!

Thing with apistos.. they really.look best when trying to impress.the opposite sex.. a single male would be ok... may get happy when you feed frozen bloodworms but ultimately a pair is best. A 10 is doable but I'd really suggest a 20 long. 15 gal or 20 tall would work too.. it's fun to give them plenty of space with multiple structures/caves to explore. They'll put on quite the show when the mood strikes.
