Copper treatment

I have discovered a new wrasse in my quarantine tank has marine velvet or possibly ich. I've moved him into a hospital tank that is treated with copper. How long do I have to leave him in there?

That's the problem. The directions don't say how long to use it. Everything I read assumes the disease is in my display tank which its not. I bought the fish only a few days ago, put him in a quarantine tank and then moved him to a hospital tank when I noticed the velvet. He won't go back to the quarantine but rather into the display tank once it's safe.
