Found a crab after 3 months (never seen it before).

It's light brown, with hairy legs and black pincers. It is just hanging out on the rocks eating debris off them. Is it possible this is a predator crab?

Ive read that usually the black pinchers are a good sign of a predatory crab. Also, hairy legs have been known to be an indicator or possible predator crabs. It'd probably be best to try to catch it and put it in your sump if you have one.

Thanks for the responses.

My friend found it in his tank today so no idea how long it has been there. We think it may have come in on one of the corals that had a really porous rock attached.

Any idea how to get it out?? It's REALLY fast

Rumor has it that you can get a kitchen glass, put frozen food in the bottom of it, and place it in the tank on an angle. So that is sits up straight, but leans, and at night is probably the best time to do it. The crab will be able to crawl in to get the food, but won't be able to crawl out of the glass. Then you can take it out and put it wherever you want it!

This is what I used and it worked like a charm.
