Dwarf Gourami problem?

Last night I noticed a very weird thing on my DG. At the front of his dorsal fin is what looks like a whitehead but it seems to be under his skin. I have determined that it is not ich because there are no external symptoms. There is only a very slight bulge, it is white and about the diameter of a pencil eraser. It looks as though it is under pressure and very uncomfortable. I cannot get a photo because he is reclusive, if I get one I'll post it. All of my other fish a fine. Anyone heard of this? Thanks in advance. Water parameters are good.

Sorry, Dwarf Gourami. His scales are not sticking out and there is no bloat. He is eating and acting normal, just want to diagnose this and see if I can help him.

An injury possibly? Any sharp objects in the tank?

No, just wood and fake plants. I'm thinking of moving all but him to my other tank and see what happens. I sure would like to know what it is so I can help him.
