I thought it would be a good idea to have an emergency filter around in case the pump in my BioCUBE gives out or to use in a quarantine bucket.
I got a cheap sponge filter that I figure would be good for a spawning tank in case I see any of that going on, but more importantly I am keeping the sponge in my wet/dry filter under the assumption that it will pick up a load of good bacteria there and be a more effective filter in a newly set up quarantine tank. Does this sound reasonable.
