If I used the guide to eliminate planaria article foun on AA website will it work well and can I use it with fish in the tank or do they have to be taken out?

Adult fish will be fine. You will want to remove fry or inverts as both are more sensitive. Another option is a product called 'No Planaria'. I have not personally used it but it has been getting rave reviews from those that have and is an all natural product. Usually, just increasing water changes, doing good gravel vacs and reducing feeding is enough to reduce or eliminate planaria issues. Good luck!
