filament or black spot barb

Has anyone ever kept these fish? I'm trying to learn more about them before investing the rather high dollar amount. I'm very impressed from what I've read so far. Thanks in advance!

They get around 4 inches in length. The LFS I work at had a few and they were total pigs. There is actually 1 left that is really big. They are not shy so don't house them with passive species.
