Filter needs

Hi all

My internal pump has given up the ghost. I have an external pond solutions external pump (200litres). Do I need to get another internal one to replace it??
I have an 48 gallon/180 litre tank

It depends on your stock. If you are pushing the limits then you could fall behind a little bit. Whats your stock?

My stock is

4 albino Cory's
1 hillstream
2 Chinese Golden algae eater
2 silver dollars
3 black eyed barbs
4 fan tail guppies
5 zebra barbs
4 Goldern tetras
1 neon tetra
1 Siamese fighting fish

The external filter says it copes with a 200 litre tank. Mine is 180 l.

I'd quite like to take the internal one out but just want what's best for the fishes
