After a few hours of confussion, my fire shrimp took up residence behind a rock, and very rarely makes an appearance. I found a vivid red empty shell this morning and spent 30 minutes bemoaning my luck before I discovered it was just his molt. He was fine, I am wiser.

I was releived, to say the least. When the pepermint molts, it looks like a shed skin. The fire shrimps empty was still vivid red.

I had one for a couple yrs and he molted frequently. Mine stayed in the rocks alot also.

So far this guy molts about every 10-14 days. He really likes to eat. At least it doesn't freak me out any more.

I don't want to mention that... I was convinced that my hermits were dying off. Looks just like they had their butts eaten off. I wonder how they get the eye stalks out without breaking the shedded skin?
