Fish quantity

How many fish can I have in a 10 gallon freshwater tank? And can I add an algae eater? Right now I have 4 gold barbs, 1 red swordfish and 1 red tail black variatus (platy).

Your at your limit. And whatever you do NO ALGAE EATER!! They can get up to a foot or two long

A 30 gallon still can't hold a algae eater. You need a 50 at least
