Okay so I have been cycling my aquarium for over two months and I'm getting quite fed up with it, to be honest. About a week and a half ago my ammonia finally dropped to zero and my nitrite and nitrates were extremely high. I added about 5 ppm of ammonia and tested two days later. The ammonia was zero and the nitrite and nitrates were high. I guess I got excited but I accidentally dropped way too many drops of ammonia into the tank. I tested and it was pretty high. I've been testing every day since then and it won't drop back to zero. I did a 50% water change the other day but it still is at .50 ppm. Just wondering what to do? First fishless cycle. 10 gallon aquarium. Want fish!!!

+1 on being patient. Also if I'm not mistaken too much ammonia can kill off BB, so when you accidentally overdosed it could've cause a problem. My 10g, fish IN cycle, took 8 wks with 2 wks of nitrites.
