4 days ago, I added a freshwater clam to my 40 gallon tank. Ever since I put it in, it has sat on the bottom in the very same position, not moving at all. I don't know much about clams and I searched the forum for this question but didn't find anything.
How do I know if it is dead or alive? Is it doing ok? The shell is tightly close which I think is a good sign, but other than that -- I don't know much about them. Also, I don't have sand like gravel, it is more of the larger gravel (white pebbles).
Thanks in advance.
