Some GBRs can be quite aggressive, others pretty docile. Regardless, there will be aggression when breeding though, so if you get some that pair up they will have to be moved once you see some spawning behavior. Bolivian Rams are a less aggressive ram option that can easily be kept with most types of tetras and rasbora.
+1 to bud. It all depends on the individual gbr. Mine dont bother my ghost shrimp at all. But they get very aggressive twords anything that moves basically before they spawn. So you have to watch out for that.
Mine get along fine with shrimp. They haven't attacked any fry yet. ( from what I've seen ) but yes look out at breeding. That's when they will be aggressive
