I was recently at someones place and saw these beautiful clams they had that were about 8" wide. I definitley want to add these to my tank but wanted to ensure there is no downside to having them? Thanks in advance!

I dont have any problems with mine. Mine`s about the sive of a volley ball. It`s a squamosa clam. It`s in my images.

The downside is that they get, well, giant. If you have the space and proper conditions, no downside that I can think of.

They require a lot of light, don't they? I'd love to get one but I'm pretty sure I'd have to upgrade my lighting first.

Some of them do require high lighting. My squamosa requires moderate lighting.
