I've noticed smaller visible growths. Then I moved a rock and saw a huge growth under it. Pics below. WHAAAAT is this stuff? I don't like it. The rocks may be sent to the fuge!!! Or worse? Only got a couple or three worms on it anyway.

It almost looks like sponge or some type of filter feeder. I have a bunch of these in my tank and I figured it was a sponge. Maybe I`m wrong.

I agree, that stuff pops up in my tank, from time to time. My urchins mow it down.

Hmm....looks a lot like a colonial tunicate that is invasive in temperate waters....I don't think it likes high temps but who knows, it seems to be able to grow anywhere around here. Look up Didemnum sp. and see if the pics you find look like what you have. some folks refer to it as "alien snot". I have no idea how you'd get rid of it, although I doubt it would hurt anything as long as you keep it in check.

BTW I might be way off, here, but it sure looks like it.
