I was looking for info and found this app, so happy I did...because I believe the guy at the fish store thinks I am making up questions, at this point...lol
Anyhoo...I have 1 Oranda, 2 fancy goldfish, 2 dalmation mollies and recent new additions, 4 balloon mollies.
I have had some disruption in my 29 gallon tank. So, look for some questions, coming in the forum soon.
We, my hubby and I, had made a foray into fish keeping, as we call it, a long time ago, with a 20 gallon tank. Where I immediately killed all 4 of the fish, in one big swoop, being of no knowledge, and we gave up. That was 30 years ago...oh to be young.
We said never again, and ended up buying a house, with the sellers leaving behind a totally green algae mess of a 1 1/2 gallon tank, that amazingly had 2 gold fish in it. We cleaned them up and had them for 8 years, then they both died within a week if each other.
I said no more...but my husband, The real fish lover, decided to bring two goldfish and Oranda home. We had already graduated to a 5 gallon tank with the last two, so he put them in. They thrived. But he wanted more! I said, not without a bigger tank. So we made the plunge, and with some hand wringing and wondering if we could do it. We did!
So his babies got a bigger tank.
We waited, researched, established the tank. Moved the happy fishes, and planned our next move.
Jim, my husband, decided we were safe...let's go get more! So we added 2 dalmation and 1 Balloon molly. Everything was fine, for a month. Than our little guy, Tank, the Balloon. Died. Not sure what happened? Jim freaked, we checked the tank, pH was low. Corrected it.
Waited...cause he wanted more fish.
His babies....I am just the keeper.
Thus my username...
Sooooo.. we added 4 balloon. I noticed the dalmations being very aggressive to the balloons, removed them to the 5 gallon tank. Now the balloons are being aggressive to the huge goldfish. So....that's how I came to be here. Long winded, but....
Now you know...
