I think Mrs. Puff has them. Her belly is sunken in and there is something hanging off of her lip area. I was thinking maybe those Callamonous worms or whatever they are called. I have been reading to use some Seachem Metronidazole, but should I treat the whole tank so Alejandro doesn't get sick too? Yeah I know, I didn't QT :p That is because my QT tank has a betta in it lol. I could fill up the 2.5 but it wouldn't have a filter or heater or anything with it.

Does anyone have experience treating such a thing?

I'm thankful I never had to deal with that kind of parasite.

However, you can always QT the betta in the 2.5 with a daily 100% water change. I've had to do that before with bettas and they do very well without filtration as long as the water is kept pristine.

It is my dwarf puffer. I am picking up meds tomorrow, the 2.5 QT would be a super last resort but I am just going to treat both of them since she has already been in the tank. Thanks :)

im glad i haven't had a parasite like that either, if one of my fish has a parasite my other fish decide to attack it until it dies. i had a gourami with a parasite once, and my swordtails decided to keep attacking it until it died and i removed.

try the medication process and if that doesnt work , you could get a betta container, and place it in the larger tank. and use the qt tank for the puffer.

You could try soaking the bloodworms or whatever you are feeding in an anti parasitic. I don't think you'll get your puffers to eat medicated flakes.

I had this problem too with my guppies and after some research, the best method is to use Levamisole 100% substance, you can find that at a veterinary pharmacy. This is better than other medicine that contains this substance.
