I was going to set up my 35 Gal tank as a low light tank, but I am so wanting to have some high light plants in there. My problem is that there is no place near me that I can think of that I could get cheap tanks of CO2.

So I was wondering, is there any DIY projects that could produce enough CO2 for a high light 30 Gal tank?

While a pain you could certainly do DIY CO2 at that tank. You'd be looking at three to four 2 Liter bottles or 2 Gallon bottles for CO2 generation. You'll also want to pick an efficient means of diffusion, like an Inline Reactor, Intank Reactor, or the Mist Method.
