It's bought a juwel vision 180 bow front second hand. Unfortunately I balanced the lighting on to over the tank during transit. The plug fell in the tank which still had some water covering the gravel. I was planning to set it up straight away. The lighting switch also fell in. Has something like this ever happened to anyone before?

I'm just wondering how long it will take to dry out. The plug is moulded but the fuse holder exposes the fuse. I could obviously put a new plug on it. But would lose some safety if for some reason the drip loop fails. My other problem is the switch got wet too.

It's currently on the window sill hovering over a radiator. Anyone have something similar involving wet plugs?

I could just buy a new lighting system but I'm so annoyed. So stupid!

just let it dry out it will be fine. i have droped a whole light set up in a tank before and a week later it dried out and a new fuse and light worked

Few thanks! The canister filter is still sealed with water in it but I don't imagine the bacteria will survive. Also a few light scratches on inside of glass somehow. I heard people use vinegar and water to brighten tanks but is there anything fish safe that reduces scratching. And do they tend to become less noticeable once tank is filled?

i use vinager and rince verry well scratches be come less visibul when it full of water
