I’m stumped

So we had a big storm the other day that left us without power for 8 hours or so. When the power came back on Larry the mystery snail was riding around on the submarine…. Can’t figure out for the life of me how he got on there! Any ideas? (Sorry about the sideways pic)

The submarine was obviously still long enough for the snail to hitch the ride. Snails may be slow but they aren't still so they can grab onto things.

My apple snail will grab onto a lettuce leaf that is floating around in the water. Id go further than that and say im 99% sure it hunted down, caught and ate a live and healthy betta.

Climb up the glass and parasail down to the sub. They do it regularly, climb up and let go.

Climbing onto things and falling off is fun for them, it's a game that doesn't hurt them.
