Hello!

I am in the process of setting up a basic 10 gallon aquarium for my son, he has autism and he finds watching the fish my friend has calming.

I had a gold fish tank eons ago, and remember it all being fairly simple to do, however I dont want goldfish

I read someplace, wish I could recall where but ive seen many sites lately while I prepare to do this...that if i started the tank with say a few danios then I could cycle it, and just ensure to do frequent water changes till it is stable...

should I be adding anything additional to the tank? and how many is a few? a friend suggested 4-5, but i was thinking err on the side of caution and go with three.

anyhow I look forward to peeking around on here and learning more, I quite enjoyed the tank i had years ago so im sure this will return as a fun hobby and calming activity for myself and my son

Hi, and welcome!
Just make sure the water is right before slowly adding fish.
Bet your son will love it!
