I'm currently slowly transferring my stock from the old tank and into the new. A couple of nights ago I introduced a small group of harlequin rasbos with my last remaining female guppy and ever since the guppy has shoaled with the rasbos. This could be that it's in unfamiliar surroundings and looking for protection in numbers but at the moment it's pretending to be a Rasbo.

Does anyone else have have any odd ball fish or behaviour similar

The cardinal tetra used to hang around the rasboras when I just had one. Now I have a group it has gone back.

I have a lone 2" rainbow (inherited with the tank - not my choice but he's healthy and seems happy enough). He thinks he's a corydoras and guards them in the evening when they are feeding. During the day he shoals with the tetras.

i had a flying fox that liked to shoal with some buenos aires tetra

Wired I wonder why they do that. Maybe they know that they know the fish they are shoaling with are not a threat to them and are happy with the security of numbers
