So ive had my 29 gallon biocube for about 3 months running and its all going good. but im always looking for ways to make it better. i havent changed anything to the back except adding a proteinskimmer and a powerhead.

I have stocked up
- 1 Black and White Ocellaris Clownfish
- 1 peppermint shrimp
- 1 cleaner shrimp
- 1 yellowhead sand sifter goby
- a leather toadstool
- 2 corals i dont know there names
- 5 snails
-1 starfish

Everything looks great and doing well just not amazing. like my water seem to be not so clear and my goby doesnt seem to come out much.

Other questions i have is how do u know if ur protein skimmer is working.
is it okay if all your clownfish does is swim in one line
and how bad is it if ur sand bed gets kinda dirty.
how do u add sand to the tank after its already stocked up with fish?

Anything answerd would be helpful and thankyou.

Best way I have found for adding sand is to rinse it thoroughly and use a pvc pipe and a funnel to get it to the bottom of the tank. Add maybe a couple cups at a time. Make sure you get dry sand and not live. The live stuff is usually not all that live and could cause a spike in the tank. Try adding a few nassarius snails to help with the sand bed.

If the skimmer is running properly it will be bubbling into the collection cup and will need to be emptied usually weekly.

where is the clown swimming? Some gobies tend to do that.

Post some pictures and we can help with the coral IDs

thank you i will be sure to get pictures of hte tank and corals tomorrrow morning
