In need of stocking suggestions

Hello fellow fish forum friends! So I have this old 2.5 gal "tank" that I used back during my uneducated fish keeping days...I have a filter and heater for it...is there anything I can keep in a tank that small without being cruel? I'm not going to force anything to live in there if it's not a good idea (hence why I'm asking) but wanted to ask the experts!

Some cherry shrimp would be nice. In my opinion a tank that size would be ok for a single betta.

That's what I had in there originally, but he got upgraded to a larger tank

Ornamental shrimp would really be the best option.

Crystal Red Shrimp would be my choice if I got hold of a 2.5
