Is 100 GPH good for a 10 gallon tank?

Hi! I just bought a new HOB filter for my 10 gal tank and it said it puts out 100 gallons per hour. Is that sufficient for a 10 gal? Is there a calculation to find out how much GPH you need for your specific tank size? Thanks!

Yeah that is good. A good rule of thumb for HOB filters is you want 10x the turnover rate in your tank. So you would want a filter that is rated at 100gph. So your good.

Yeah, you can be even more relieved to know that you have way more than needed!

But overkill is usually helpful in the fishkeeping hobby!
