Aquarium Salt and Corydoras

I have a sick fish in my tank and I'm wondering if corys are sensitive to aquarium salt because I heard they are sensitive.

Hello meese...

My Corydoras are fine with a small dose. A teaspoon or even two in every 5 gallons of new, treated tap water is what I use. The amount is very minimal and won't bother fish or plants. There's evidence that a little helps fish produce external mucus that helps maintain a strong immune system.

What you likely read was a situation where much higher doses of salt, up to a tablespoon or three teaspoons in every gallon of water was used to treat parasites like "Ich".

The choice is entirely the waterkeeper's.
