I"m 99.9% sure it is. As long as there are no anti-mildew chemicals in it.

Alright thanks I was asking for a friend. He is making a sump and thats why it is needed.

Yes it is safe. I have used it numerous times in my tanks for decoration (rockwork and backgrounds). I just let it dry for a few days prior to putting it in. In my river tank, I used about 10 tubes of that stuff.

like peyton said, as long as its free of anti mildew chemicals you will be perfectly fine
