Does my yellow tang have fin rot?

It sure looks like it. Something is wrong with your water and fish`s diet. Doing PWC`s and getting the water back to pristine conditions will help it to grow back. Also yellow tangs are herbivores and need plenty of vegetable matter. Try getting him to eat dried seaweed sheet and Spirulina flake food.

Doesn't look like it but yellow tangs exhibit what is commonly referred to as HLLE differently than other fish. Discoloration and fin erosion. As is shown in the pic. This tang is in very bad shape.
To the OP. What size and age of tank? Parameters? What and how often do you feed it? Other livestock.
