I had a really nice full and round short bush of java fern.. I decided to buy some tall java fern at petsmart that was on clearance because it was turning brown on some leaves. I figured that IME Java Fern is pretty hardy and robust and that if I just cut off the bad leaves, it should rebound fast. At first my theory started to work (well it seemed), then a few weeks later, the big leaves broke off with what appeared to be darken brown stems at the base of the leaves.. Next thing you know, my healthy smaller bush of java (seperate plant) that I clumped together with the taller on clearance stuff, started to turn brown and now looks to be disintegrating. Is this some sort of java fern disease that my healthy bush of java caught from the new stuff?
