I just planted a 3" Java Fern into my 75 gallon. I think the lights are fine for growing they are the 48" T8 lights.

Anyway do I need to use fertilizer if all I have is that one plant?

I'm trying to start small and easy.
Thanks
Jana

Java Fern should be fine without ferts. Your fish, fish foods and water changes should supply all it needs. It is not a very demanding plant.

No. I have a java fern in my 10 gallon myself and it is THRIVING! All they need is something to latch on to. I use drift wood. You will notice roots starting to spread out and even from the tips of its leaves!

No CO2 tablets required for them

Woohoo! Easy is what I like when starting out.

Thanks!
